How we help keep you safe
Thank you for booking with us at The Elm Tree Bed and Breakfast.
Chris and Jonathan your hosts run The Elm Tree as a Bed and Breakfast and although we live on site our reception times are limited.
We do not operate a 24 hours reception and would ask that you check the following information carefully to ensure we can offer you a warm welcome.
We have worked with the industry to ensure that yours and our safety is of paramount importance. We have put the following procedures in place for your stay, If you would like to discuss any of the points raised below then please do contact Jonathan direct where he will be happy to talk through any concerns or worries.
All guests will complete a check in form that will be sent to you before – if this could be completed and brought with you.
Payment invoice will also be sent prior to the stay – this eliminates the need for you to go to reception to pay on check out, and also minimises the risk from cross contamination of using the card machine. Payment can be made either via BACS or through ringing and paying over the phone. Only bookings with confirmed payments will be taken.
Please advise the Elm Tree on your arrival time – this is to ensure that you are not arriving at the same time as other guests.
When arriving please come to the reception doors where Jonathan will greet you.
We have an infrared thermometer and your temperature will be taken before access into the property. If we find that you do have a raised temperature then sadly we will not be able to go ahead with your booking on this occasion. We understand the frustrations with this but please rest assured that we take the health and safety of you and our other guests of the highest importance.
We ask that guests carry their own luggage to the rooms so as to again minimise contact.
There is a hand sanitiser station in reception that we ask guests to use before going up to their rooms.
The key to the rooms will be left in the door.
You will be asked what tine you would like breakfast and advised which room you will be in – either the blue room or the green dining room – these will have been pointed out to you on arrival.
When coming up or down the stairs for breakfast we ask that you use the hand sanitisers provided at the top and bottom of the stairs. This way we can ensure that safe movement about the house for other guests.
Within each room you will have access to the buffet style breakfast and then asked what you would like from the cooked menu. To adhere to safe distancing the breakfasts when ready will be placed on the additional table in the room and we ask that you collect the plates from the table once we are a safe distance away.
Movement around the house;
We kindly ask that once you are back in your room that you keep movement around the house to a minimum and if you do need to go out to the carpark then please use the hand sanitisers at the front door and again on the stairwell.
Check in Time:
We operate reception from 3pm until 6pm – due to the COVID-19 restrictions and ensuring safety of guests arrival we ask that all guests please let Jonathan know an estimated time of arrival to ensure that guests are not arriving at the same time.
If a later check in time is required then we ask that you contact us as soon as possible so that alternative arrangements can be made.
Failure to do so will incur the late check in fee of £15 which will be applied to your reservation.
Check Out Times:
We ask that guests check out by 10am on the day of departure – Like above we require a check out time to again minimise the likelihood of meeting other guests on the communal areas. When leaving we ask that you leave the key in the door of the room please.
We are sorry that the rooms will not be serviced during your stay – this is to again minimise the change of cross contamination. If you require more towels / or refills of tea / coffee we ask that you text Jonathan on 07875585154 and these will be left outside of your room. Please place any used towels safely in the large blue bag found in the bottom drawer of the wardrobes and leave this outside of your door.
A late check out is sometimes possible and this is charged at the rate of £15 per hour. This needs to be arranged on arrival to provide sufficient notice for the housekeeper.
Guests must give 14 days written notice for a cancellation of the room. Failure to do so will forfeit the deposit paid. Notice given before this period will receive a full refund. Any cancellation made within a 48 hour window of the arrival date will be charged the full amount of the first nights stay.
